Let me explain. In an e-zine 2 weeks ago I suspected that science in the case of SARS was once again jumping to conclusions, like it has in the case of HIV (www.duesberg.com) and BSE (www.purdeyenvironment.com). The evidence for this being the case has increased considerably over the past couple of weeks.

Consider the following facts:

In 1996, a normal year, about 4000 people in Hong Kong died of pneumonia (source: www.nomorefakenews.com). No one went into a state of hysteria over it.
The list of SARS symptoms is indistinguishable from the symptoms of ordinary pneumonias and flu.
The Corona virus purported to be causing SARS has not been proven to cause anything yet and is not present in 60% of "SARS" cases in Canada.

So why jump on the bandwagon and worry about this man made epidemic? Free your mind to think of important things while your friends run around hypnotized.

3. Quackbusters Lose Yet Another Law Suit

Notorious "quackbuster" Stephen Barrett has been trying to intimidate the natural health community by starting a large number of law suits. As a nice side effect settlements with the defendants flush money into his war chest. In 2001 he started law suits against more than 800 defendants with his attorney Morse Mehrban, as reported by a local newspaper.

Morse Mehrban is the attorney who threatened to sue one of his defendants who started a counter suit against him which "caused a state of anxiety which prompted him to take antidepressants which caused impotence" so he wanted redress (taken from the same newspaper article).

Well, psychiatrist Barrett has recently gained some notoriety for losing law suits. It seems that when he does not manage to intimidate a defendant to settle with him, he has an extremely bad track record of being able to win any case in court. Maybe it is because he is just wrong??
